Our primary focus is on protecting individuals and families from the confusing and often devastating legal effects of failing to plan for death and disability. Through proper estate planning, such as wills, trusts, special needs trusts, Medi-Cal and Veterans Benefits planning, and elder life planning, our clients can protect their assets from the unnecessary expense and delay of court proceedings and unwanted government and administrative oversight.

Located in Sacramento County, California the Medeiros Law Firm
assists clients with estate planning and elder law matters.

Helping your entire family achieve successful outcomes is our primary focus.

Dear Joan – I enjoyed doing business with you.  I’m really pleased, since I didn’t know who was on the other end of the telephone!  I hope you enjoyed my chickens and their eggs–I’m glad I shared them with you.  Good luck and best wishes.

Thank you for all your help and guidance.  My wife and I feel like you’ve been more like a friend than a lawyer to us.  I will definitely recommend you to my friends and acquaintances.  You’re a neat lady, and thanks again.

Joan is a great attorney. What sets her apart from other lawyers is the fact that she’s a great listener and problem solver. She pays attention to your issues and cares what happens to your family. She’s responsive and articulate, and doesn’t use legal jargon to impress you. When you leave her office, you leave with more confidence than when you went in, because not only does she completely understand what needs to be done, but now you do, too. She has prepared wills, trusts and other documents for me and every member of my family. I can’t recommend her highly enough.

I’m an attorney in Santa Barbara, admitted to the CA Bar in 1972. I have known Joan Medeiros since 1974, even before she went to law school. As the years have gone by, we’ve consulted and collaborated back and forth, trying out ideas on each other and seeking advice on cases. This afternoon, we were in the midst of a social conversation (about our respective health kicks) when she mentioned in passing the solution to a problem I encountered this morning for which I didn’t believe their was a good answer. I immediately set the wheels in motion to rectify the situation, thanks to Joan’s advice, putting the final details in order for the estate plan of an 89-year old lady in hospice care. Joan is the best.

Joan was an excellant attorney and helped me update my mother’s living trust and helped her get set up with a Medi-Cal nursing program to assist with skilled nursing care costs. Joan was very fast to get the work done.
